Carmenlina Minasova is a medical professional, journalist, environmental and human rights advocate, and community leader with more than 30 years of international experience. Originally from a former Soviet Union, she holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Doctor of Medicine and graduate degrees in International Law and Business. Dr. Minasova has practiced medicine in Armenia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and several European countries, and in the United States focuses on respiratory, cardiorespiratory, pulmonary, and neurology care. After advocating for environmental and human rights, freedom of speech, and constitutional reform in post‑Soviet countries, she faced political persecution and imprisonment before immigrating to the United States in 2000. In California, she founded the Human Rights Central Committee, dedicated to protecting both human and animal rights and exposing public corruption and environmental injustice that harm communities. She volunteers with LA Animal Services’ East Valley Shelter, collaborates with the LAPD, and supports nonprofits serving unhoused individuals, students, immigrants, and environmentally burdened neighborhoods. During the COVID‑19 pandemic, Dr. Minasova served on the front lines, applying her medical training in a time of crisis. She has run for Los Angeles City Council District 6 and California State Assembly District 43 and is currently a candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles and Lieutenant Governor of California, continuing her lifelong commitment to environmental justice, accountability, and better quality of life for all.
