Stronger Together: The Power of Community

Sun Valley Community Stands United Against Tiny Home Village Proposal:
On August 12, 2025, Sun Valley community members stood shoulder to shoulder at the Los Angeles City Council meeting, united in their opposition to the proposed Tiny Home Village at the Metrolink Sun Valley station. Residents, business owners, and commuters came together to voice their concerns, emphasizing that the project threatens to compromise public safety, increase crime, and contribute to environmental pollution, illegal dumping, littering and hazardous conditions throughout the neighborhood. They stated their fears that this is just another poorly planned project, which will be just another waste of resources; it will permanently damage the community and negatively impact long time residents and families being critically close to single family homes, sensitive areas such as schools and recreation center.

Representing a broad coalition within a five-mile radius of the project site, community members passionately expressed how the proposal jeopardizes not only local businesses and their employees, but also the daily well-being of commuters and families who call Sun Valley home.
With one voice and many hands, the community highlighted feelings of frustration and neglect as their repeated concerns have gone largely ignored. Residents stressed the urgent need for transparent, timely, and meaningful public outreach – an essential step that was overlooked during this process.

The Sun Valley community remains steadfast in its demand for accountability and for thoughtful, collaborative solutions that prioritize safety, security, environmental justice, and quality of life.

Now is the time to take action. We urge every Sun Valley resident and ally to stay engaged: attend upcoming council meetings, sign community petitions, and reach out directly to city officials to demand fair representation. Together, we can ensure our voices are not just heard -but acted upon.
